Hello President Choi Jang-su,

I am Moon Yong-gi, currently using the Noble Pre Mk1, which I purchased from President Ko Myung-seop of Geumgang Electronics in Seocho.

I once sent you a message to greet you, and now, after using it for about three months, I cannot resist sharing my brief impressions.

To briefly introduce my current setup:

- Altec 604-8G speakers

- Noble Pre

- MC275 Mk5 power amplifier

The 604 speakers are very high-efficiency, so any noise or hum becomes unbearably prominent. Since the power amplifier is also a powerful MC275, the importance of the preamp is even greater.

At this point, I would like to praise the preamp:

- It has a crispy texture, as if light is beautifully breaking apart.

- The hum and noise floor are extremely low. Even when I bring my ear close to the speaker, I cannot detect any noise. It’s truly amazing.

- The 437a tube, which you define as a high figure of merit triode, seems to clearly reproduce instantaneous subtle signals.

- I suspect that the Noble’s separate power supply absolutely contributes to the low hum/noise floor.

- As the expression of small signals previously buried in the noise floor improves,

. the soundstage deepens,

. reverberation lengthens,

. instrument textures become more apparent,

. and the high frequencies feel more smoothly extended.

It conducts an ideal sound that is bright but not harsh,

clear but not thin,

sparkling without any metallic harshness.

I deliberately matched the MC275 instead of the standard low-power 2A3 or 300B typically paired with the 604.

My goal is to match a structure where the clean subtle signals performed by the Noble Pre are directly transformed into dynamic acoustic energy.

I am grateful to be able to use such a masterpiece with a beautifully breaking light-like finish.

Although there are several newer versions after the Noble I have, for now, I have no further wishes and plan to enjoy listening for a while. If the opportunity arises, I would like to visit your workshop someday to greet you in person.

From Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul,

46-year-old Moon Yong-gi
